History
Many believe that Athens is the birthplace of Greek mythology. The city was named as a result of a competition between the goddess Athena and sea god Poseidon to see who would become the patron of the city. Athena won the competition and the city was named Athens. Other famous Athenians include Theseus, Oedipus, Socrates, Plato and Aristotle.
Art & Museums
Visitors to Athens will have their choice of restaurants, bars, discos and nightclubs. There are clubs that specialize in Greek music while other clubs feature ethnic Latin, jazz, pop, rock, 60's to 70's music, blues and hip-hop.
